A compelling story of Dr. Alan Rabinowitz, Ph. D, who overcame the adversity of a severe stutter as a child..he made a promise that one day when he got his voice back, he would be the voice for those who could not speak for themselves....
Animal welfare course at NTU, but now it's over. I'm so happy to have met so many young students who really seem to have a genuine interest in Animal Welfare. Thanks for inviting us Professor Fei, and thanks to the students for giving some great presentations on the final class! (05/15/2012)
Lunch With Iris from Humane Society International and fellow Twnese. Excited for our campaign work together!
Thank you to Rotary Club for inviting us to attend their weekly meeting. Everyone was extra attentive during our ED's speech. We hope to let more and more people know why animals need our help, and how everyone can do something to protect our animal friends.
Seeing pictures like these really make my day! XiaoBai was one of our abuse investigation dogs. We spent weeks trying to get him out of his terrible living situation, finally when we did, we weren't sure who would have the patience to adopt him. Because of his previous home environment he was extremely hyper and unsocialized. But, he was quickly adopted and now has a life fit for a king!
Foster/Adopter Needed!: We first met Xiao Hei (male, 1-2yrs.) during one of our investigations cases; Xiao Hei's owner had him tied up inside the house for almost 2 years. Xiao Hei had never been on a walk and has never had a bath. They did not have the proper knowledge nor environment to properly care for a dog. At the time Xiao Hei's collar was cutting into his throat as it had never been taken off since he was brought in as a puppy. About a month ago, we took Xiao Hei in to the vet for his first checkup and to get the collar removed. It's been a month now and his owner is moving and contacted us saying she can not care for him any more. Originally the owner was going to leave Xiao Hei temporarily with a friend, but after we heard that the friend was going to once again tie Xiao Hei up outside his building, we felt the best option is to ask whether the owner would like to relinquish the dog and have us take over. Now we need to find Xiao Hei a foster home or loving adopter. If you can show Xiao Hei the world he's never seen, please contact us firstname.lastname@example.org 02-2921-7530 Thank you!
Preparations underway! Go go go! Tickets are now pretty much sold out, only few seats left. Thank you to all our supporters and sponsors!
Saw a very interesting article talking about how "nudging" or offering reminders to people can actually help us become greener. Reminder stickers pasted above light switches remind you to turn off your lights. Footsteps painted on the ground towards a public garbage bin can remind you not to litter.
After my second day of walking XiaoBai, it amazes me how loving and sweet he is, regardless of what he's been through and where he's lived. Watching him explore on our walks is amazing, I'm sure it's the first time he's seen everything he's experiencing right now. Curiously peering into small ponds, feeling grass under his paws, being startled by frogs and meeting new dog friends, not to mention figuring out how to go up and down stairs. Just goes to show that dogs really do live in the moment and that his difficult past won't affect his future! XiaoBai's boarding fees are 300nt/day, if you would like to help out with this please email email@example.com or if you would like to give him a foster home so he can finally have a warm loving home please email firstname.lastname@example.org
