人道教育之善待動物
Humane Education
“教育” 是改變的關鍵 ! 我們必須從小開始教育孩子使他們成長為關懷台灣動物及愛護動物的成人.
Taiwan SPCA 定期會到不同的私立及公立中小學以及社團做教育演講. 之前到了東海大學裡分享知識與經驗，2012年的4月也在台大(NTU)展開了一個月的動物福利課程。目前Taiwan SPCA 也已推出一套自己的動物福利教材並接受各個公私力學校索取，我們要感謝香港愛護動物協會(Hong Kong SPCA)提供參考版本。

Education is the key to change. We must start with the young to teach and enable them to become concerned adults who respect and care for all living things. The Taiwan SPCA visits many public／private schools and clubs on a regular basis to talk to children and adults as young as 5 years old and as grown as 60 years old. The Taiwan SPCA has also done seminars at local Universities including Tunghai University in Taichung City, Cultural University in Taipei City, and has just held a one month animal welfare course at National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei City.
The Taiwan SPCA has recently developed its own Animal Welfare Education Curriculum, adapted from the Hong Kong SPCA's version, and we welcome any public/private schools to apply for copies. The Taiwan SPCA also welcomes invitations to speak and present at schools; if you would like the Taiwan SPCA to visit your school, please contact us at commuity@spca.org.tw 02-2921-7530 (Taiwan SPCA depends on public contributions to continue it's animal welfare programs, therefore we kindly request a donation of $1500+ for our animal welfare presentations). Suggested Donations Taipei City/New Taipei City: $1500 + (limited to one location, unlimited number of students, 30-45 minute presentation) Other Cities/Counties Within Taiwan: $5000 + (up to 2 locations from the same school in the same city, every additional location please add a suggested donation of $1000 +) |

負責的主人 Responsible Pet Guardianship
- Think about the responsibilities involved before adopting a pet.
- Be committed to caring for your pet for its entire life which can be as long as 10-20 years.
- Spay or Neuter your pet - they will be healthier and have fewer behavioral problems.
- Provide nutritious food and fresh water daily.
- Provide monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention medicine.
- Use a collar with identification tag or microchip on your pet.
- Give your pet love, exercise and attention daily.
- Take the time and patience to train your pet using praise and training classes.
- Provide alternative care when gone for long periods of time or on vacation.
- Groom your pet as needed.
- Obey local pet ordinances.
- Provide shelter with a comfortable, quiet, dry place to sleep or rest when needed.
- Take your pet to a veterinarian for regular check-ups, vaccinations and medical care when ill or injured.
