Sometimes you just have to help. And it was like that when Lonely Planet author Robert Kelly found Lucky in an east coast fish market in January. Lucky had a horrific wound on his cheek and needed immediate medical attention. Fortunately he got it, and within a few months he was back in perfect health.

Since August Lucky has been undergoing a series of revolutionary operations (sponsored by the Taiwan SPCA) to close the gap in his cheek that did not heal after his otherwise full recovery. The operations have been a success, and in more ways than one. Not only is Lucky now as handsome as any makeover model, but the operations have also help the vets at NTU Animal Hospital develop new skills in performing skin grafts and reconstructive surgery. Someday a beloved pet of yours may be able to recover completely from a disfiguring accident or disease because of the testing that was first done on Lucky.
從八月份開始Lucky經歷了一連串的『變臉』手術(經費由台灣防止虐待動物協會贊助)，目的是要治療Lucky臉上遲遲無法完全癒合的傷口，而此時Lucky身體其他傷口都已完全康復。在嘗試過許多一種方法之後，手術終於成功了。
現在，不僅是Lucky擁有如同明星一樣的美麗外表，而且這個手術也提供台大動物醫院研究出皮膚移植及重建手術的新技術。 有一天或許您的愛犬因為意外或疾病，臉部遭受創傷時，其復原的可能性是非常大的，因為Lucky貢獻了新
技術的試驗成果。
Lucky is now ready and eager to begin a new phase in his life. You can see in his pictures he is a medium-sized dog with short yellow-tan fur, pointy ears and a long, friendly face. Personality wise he is about as easy going as you can get. Lucky doesn’t bark, won’t chew or destroy things in the house, and is gentle and patient with kids. This is a dog who is so easygoing that even on his second visit to the animal hospital (when he knew what was going to happen) he just sat patiently waiting his turn to see the doctor. The vets at NTU literally call him “one-in-a-million.”
現在Lucky已經準備好了﹐ 並且渴望要展開新的人生階段。從照片中你可以看到，Lucky是一隻中型犬，擁有黃棕褐色的毛髮、長長尖尖的立耳及非常友善的臉。聰明的牠對人非常隨和。Lucky不會亂吠叫，也不會去啃咬或破壞屋子
裡的東西，而且對小孩很和善及耐心。牠的脾氣是如此的隨和，甚至在牠第二次到動物醫院時(牠也知道下一秒會發生什麼事)，牠也只是乖乖的坐著，等著看診。連師大動物醫院的獸醫們都誇讚說牠是萬中選一的乖狗狗。
