Understanding different personalities:
As you read, you'll find that our dogs and cats are grouped both by activity level, and by what motivates their personality. Internally motivated animals are usually very self-sufficient, independent thinkers who are not usually influenced by the goings-on around them. Socially motivated animals need the social contact of their own kind or lots of human attention to keep them happy.
