The name "Luca" comes from Latin and means "light." We chose this name in the hope that a dog who once lived in the shadows can now step into the light and embrace a brighter future. In March 2026, Luca was rescued from a severely neglected breeding facility. He had spent a long time confined to a cramped metal cage, living in poor conditions where even clean drinking water was a luxury. Years of confinement taught Luca to be cautious and careful in everything he does. Around other dogs, he tends to stay quietly in the background, never competing for attention—like the quiet student in class who often goes unnoticed. However, if you're willing to give him a little extra time, you'll discover an incredibly intelligent dog with a wonderful ability to learn. Although unfamiliar people and situations still make him nervous, Luca works hard every day to adapt to this new and fascinating world.
